Historical Sketch

-1913-
Hintonburg Baptist Mission met on the north side of Wellington Street, opposite Grace Hospital.  Captain W.L. McKay was the pastor and was sponsored by the Ottawa Baptist Mission Board of the Baptist Convention of Ontario and Quebec.

-1918-
Hintonburg Baptist Mission moved to a new location between Parkdale and Hamilton.

-1920-
After being organized as a Baptist church, the Mission bought property at Parkdale and Tyndall.  The original church building was erected on this site.
Rev. A.G. Gordon from Montreal was called as the first pastor.
It was at this time that the name was changed to Parkdale Avenue Baptist Church.

-1936-
John McDowall was called as student pastor.

-1937-
John McDowall was asked to stay as pastor

-1954-
The church became affiliated with the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches in Canada in August, and Pastor John McDowall was ordained in December.

-1958-
Mr. John McDowall, father of the pastor, turned the sod for a new building in September.130517 Ground Break 2

-1959-
May 24th was the opening of the new building for worship.

-1973-
Retirement of Rev. John McDowall and Rev. Raymond H. Galbraith was called as pastor.

-1988-
Parkdale Baptist began a church plant in Kanata

-1992-
July 1st retirement of Rev. R. H. Galbraith and Rev. John Rush was called as pastor

-1998-
Rev. George Wallingford was called as pastor in May.

-2013-
Celebrated 100 Years of Ministry in June
